Crusted Butterscotch Apple Sponge

Try this one..i bet you like it ;)

Ingredients:
  • 3 cups (or 1 large can) chunky lightly stewed apple, not too wet*
  • 3/4 cup CSR Caster Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp CSR Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp caramel essence (or vanilla)
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 Tbsp self-raising flour, sifted
How to cook:
  • Preheat oven to 180 degree
  • Thoroughly grease a 21cm square 6cm deep oven dish or 4-6 individual remakins --> i use round dish
  • Place apples in dish or ramekins, sprinkle with CSR Brown Sugar and essence, stirring to mix through
  • Beat eggs, adding CSR Caster Sugar slowly until thick an creamy. Gently fold in flour
  • Pour sponge mixture over apples
  • Bake for 45-55 minutes for the dish and approximately 30-35 minutes for individual ramekins
  • Dust with CSR Pure Icing Sugar --> i ignore it
  • Serve with softly whipped cream and sprinkle it with ground cinnamon
Easy cake for beginner ;)

* U can substitute the apples with peaches, plums, apricots, berries or mix fruit.
